Last week students learned a quick way to help them pick out "good fit" books from the library.
I- I look at the book
P- Purpose: Why do I want to read the book?
I- Interest: Is the book about a topic I am interested in?
C- Comprehend: Do I understand what I am reading?
K- Know words: Can I read most of the words?
Please encourage your students to use this strategy at home and in the community libraries as well!

- I am a mom of a 2 year old, Kailyn. We just moved to Medina this summer and love being a part of the community near Highland. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, playing (tea party, on the swing set, blocks- whatever a little 2 year old chooses), reading, and visiting any beach. I am so excited about this school year and the wonderful possibilities that it holds for our class!
